I have some nice news for you. Having focused a lot on getting a fresh fiction work out there in the past couple of months, it is almost too easy to neglect mentioning some of the more serious writing I've been doing lately. Plus some rather curious and happy developments. Indeed.
As it turns out, I have completed a new technical book, slightly ahead of schedule, and it's due out soon. And an older volume of work has been translated. Well, let's elaborate. But not too much. In fact, for real this time, this will be a short article. Let's see what gives.
Problem solving book - now in Mandarin
In 2015, Elsevier published my problem solving book. All in all, it went well, and the book is even taught as part of the CS faculty curriculum at a couple of universities. Happy times. Fast forward a few years, apparently, this book remains popular enough to warrant a translation to Mandarin, to make it accessible to the vast scientific and engineering community in China. I have to admit, it's a good feeling knowing your work has been translated to languages other than the primary one, which often happens to be English. We shall see how it goes.
Meanwhile, my editor has sent me a promotional package with a handful of books inside. Now, if you happen to be a Chinese speaker, interested in technology, and willing to read and review this work in a no-nonsense, honest manner, please email me, and I might be able to send you a copy.
System Administration Ethics
But that's not all. About a year ago, my co-author and I started writing an important and, as it turns out, a highly relevant book on system administration ethics. And we're done! The book is now complete. It is published by Apress, and carries the rather sweet title: System Administration Ethics - Ten Commandments for Security and Compliance in a Modern Cyber World.
We're finished writing, a good month or two ahead of our planned deadline. Thus, it should soon be available for purchase, and for the time being, you might want to check the product page for more details. Again, if you are interested in reviewing this work, and or happen to be a prominent techie blogger or journalist, drop me a line, and I'll see if I can get you some free and signed copies.
I guess that would be all for this article. No big conclusion. Once, for a change, I truly managed to write a proper short article. Hi hi. Well, off I go writing some more. Anyway, email me if you're interested, and stay tuned for updates.
